Product Care

How to care for your new Kannoa furniture

Fine outdoor fabrics were designed to endure years of sun, soil and moisture. Light stains can be removed with a solution of mild detergent and water, rinsed with clear water and dried thoroughly. Mildew and heavy stains can be removed with a quality commercial outdoor furniture cleaner and protectant. Note: Do not dry clean or use a washing machine or dryer. Do not steam or use water at temperatures above 100ºF when washing.

Note: Be careful to keep the cleaner from contact with the cushions of your KANNOA furniture, as it will cause discoloration. Do not use bleach on printed acrylic fabrics. Do no use solvent-type materials on woven vinyl, woven blend or ultra woven blend fabrics as they will damage the yarns. Do not use chlorine based cleaners
Fine outdoor furniture deserves exceptional care. KANNOA furniture can be enjoyed for many years when well maintained. Wash any collection of KANNOA metal or woven furniture with a solution of mild liquid detergent and water, rinse with clear water and dry thoroughly. To all metal frames, apply clear automobile wax for maximum protection against harmful ultraviolet exposure and salt air. To vinyl lace, strap and mesh seating surfaces, apply a quality vinyl protectant to guard against the effects of air pollution, salt air build-up, and mildew growth. Washout door cushions with a solution of mild detergent and water and thoroughly rinse with clear water. Allow cushions to air dry completely. For best protection, perform this maintenance twice a year, although these durable materials can be safely cleaned as often as desired.

KANNOA Teak patio furniture requires little to no care and when left outdoors, will turn a handsome silver-gray. This process will take approximately nine months, depending on the amount of sunlight and rain exposure.

Clean teak furniture with a soft bristle brush or sponge. Water spots or other discoloration may also occur during the weathering process. These will even out, and the furniture will achieve a uniform silver-gray.

Periodically cleaning your teak furniture with a solution of four parts laundry detergent or dishwashing soap and one part bleach in water. Use a soft bristle brush to clean your furniture. When you are finished, rinse the entire piece to remove the dirt and any remaining solution. This is sufficient for general cleaning.

A teak cleaner will remove the silver-gray patina and restore the furniture's original color. The cleaner will restore the furniture to the natural golden color regardless of how long the piece has been outside. Oiling outdoor teak may cause mildew or irregular coloring.

KANNOA guarantees its product to be free from defects of workmanship. Due to environmental elements and relative humidity, wood will sometimes expand and shrink. We take great care to construct our furniture in a manner that allows the wood to shrink and expand. Under drastic temperature changes, cracks may sometimes appear; however, this is a very rare occurrence. Damage claims of this nature will be assessed on an individual basis if they are received within three months. Written authorization from Kannoa must be obtained prior to proceeding with any return. Due to the nature of the products, dimensions, details and/or colors represented in our catalogs may vary.
